Visible for miles from the south and east, it is the first Oregon landmark people notice as they head up Interstate 5 from California (except for Mount McLoughlin). Route Details: Relatively easy until last 1/2 mike when it starts getting steep. To scramble to the top of the rock takes a bit of rock climbing and is not great for those who are scared of heights. Know your limits!

Platt Anderson Cellars (PAC) is a small family winery that is located on Gill’s & Shelby’s residual property in Ashland, Oregon. We produce about 300-350 cases of wine per year. We have established relationships with grape growers and vineyard managers as well as many winemakers in Southern Oregon. All our grapes are sourced from local vineyards in the Rogue and Umpqua Valleys. The wines produced are whites, reds and rose’s. It is truly a local winery located within the city limits of Ashland.

Prescott Park starts from Roxy Ann Drive off of Hillcrest Road. The park totals 1740 acres of hiking and mountain biking trails, both paved and unpaved. This park is the perfect place for family adventure and incredible overviews of the valley!

Come enjoy the beautiful, quiet secluded forest. This area has picnic tables and a hiking trail leading to Pearsony Falls, the amazing Rogue River gorge and Mill Creek Falls. No drinking water at this site.

Since 1982, the summer weekends have been pretty crazy for the folks at Rapid Pleasure Rafting Company. They load people into the vans with the rafting gear on trailers and drive approximately 10-miles up river to the fish hatchery, located just below Lost Creek Dam. After getting everyone settled in the rafts, along with basic instructions, the white water cowboys are on their own for the 3-3 1/2 hour trip down the beautiful Upper Rogue River, complete with an abundance of wildlife, and lots of fishermen trying to hook that big salmon! Stops along the way include a park about half way down where some people stop to enjoy a packed lunch, or a little further down river, there is a small "back-door barbecue" where hamburgers and hotdogs are served, or paddle up a creek to swim in the warmer water.

The Red Buttes pop up now and then on many southern Oregon back roads, usually just for a second. Their double-humped camelback outline is an instant giveaway. Also, they are red (orange actually). Highlight: Close-up exploration of the beautiful namesake peak of the Red Buttes Wilderness.
