HIKING TOKETEE FALLS

Found on Southern Oregon’s Rogue-Umpqua Scenic byway stretching along the Rogue and Umpqua Rivers, you’ll find a true oasis. One of Oregon’s most famous waterfalls - Toketee Falls is a two-tiered masterpiece of nature.

Starting at the trailhead, you’ll notice a large, leaky pipeline. This pipeline is designed to divert water from the North Umpqua River to a powerhouse downstream. This tames the water flow from the rushing rivers in order to allow Toketee to flow all year long.

The North Umpqua River carved a sinuous gorge from lava flow to create a marvelous basalt cove. The upper falls plunge from the natural cliffs at 28 feet, with the lower rushing down at 85 feet into a large pool. The trail is easy, wide, and well marked with many staircases along the way for easy access. At the end of the trail you’ll reach an overlook of the falls, where you can marvel at the beauty from above. Don't miss this incredible sight in the Heart of the Rogue!
