The Rogue Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA) is the southernmost winegrowing region in Oregon, stretching from the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains north to the Rogue River.
Winemaking in the area dates back to the 1840s when early gold rush settlers began growing grapes. Oregon’s first official winery was founded just outside of Medford in 1873.
Known for its breathtaking landscapes and artisanal wineries, the Rogue Valley produces over 70 wine varietals, thanks to its Mediterranean climate, which offers ideal growing conditions.
The region is home to four unique wine trails.

The Rogue Valley AVA was established in 1991.
