They came. They Tossed. They Conquered! And the best part is, they’ll be back for another two years! Travel Medford and with the Southern Oregon Sports Commission partnered to bring the American Cornhole Organization Oregon Major to Medford, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the turnout of year one. Take a dive with us down the corn-hole as we recap the event.
It no surprise that cornhole is one of the fastest growing sports in the nation, and Southern Oregon is no exception to the rising interest in the sport. With local clubs and organizations in both Medford and Grants Pass, the Rogue Valley serves as the unofficial cornhole capital of the west. Recently we took another step toward making it the official cornhole capital when we hosted an ACO Major event back in early February. The two day event, held at the Medford Armory, hosted over 150 players, many of whom traveled from outside of the area, and even from out of state. In fact, 13 different states were represented at this event, including Alabama, Illinois, Missouri, and many more. These players weren’t just excited to play cornhole, they were excited to play cornhole HERE! We heard from many this was their first time in Oregon and they took a few extra days to explore our beautiful area. But don’t take our word for it.
